The SunCrisp brand is Crispy Carrot. They are conventional carrots that are grown in a unique way to deliver small whole ready to eat snack carrots. You eat them skin and all.
Our carrots are an older, heritage variety, to help control size and to manage the bitterness. Newer varieties of carrots have thicker skin to be more resilient to disease, which results in a bitter taste (if they are not peeled). This also means growing these carrots is more challenging and our recommended temperature control at 2 to 4 degrees C is very important to maintain.
Our carrots are BRC certified ready to eat and Global GAP certified with a recommended 21 day shelf life, depending on storage conditions. Certificates can be found on the Frupor website.
We are able to offer our customers carrots packed in GREEN PE plastic. Currently our large snack carrots bag and Jumbo snack carrots bags are available in GREEN PE.
These bags have a negative CO2 footprint. The plastic uses no fossil resources (oil) and is fully recyclable with other plastics. The bags are made from plant based materials.
Over the coming years we plan on having all our carrots available only in GREEN PE.
We prominently display the bio plastic logo on packages using GREEN PE.
